Greetings from the Director of Medical Education/ Designated Instituitional Official
Welcome to Graduate Medical Education at Guthrie Lourdes. We are excited that you are searching for more information about our programs. Guthrie Lourdes has been fostering the education of the next generation of caregivers for over 30 years, starting with our Podiatric Residency Program. In 2015, the Family Medicine Residency program was launched to provide ambulatory education to a much needed facet of healthcare providers. We were delighted to add an Internal Medicine Residency in 2023 to focus on the inpatient experience. Additionally, we host medical students from SUNY Upstate Medical University and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Though we are a community hospital, our programs are robust with over 100 faculty members dedicated to inspiring our learners. The vast majority of our residents' educational experiences are unopposed, and they often find themselves in one-on-one training opportunities with their attending physician. We are proud of the academic culture we have created and strive to ensure our residents and students have everything they need to be successful, including our utmost support. The well-being of our learning caregivers is paramount, as we truly believe that one should be of sound mind, body, and spirit to provide the best care possible.
I invite you to learn more about our programs and see for yourself how we can be an essential part of your future success.
