Rebecca Bailey, MDWelcome from Program Director

Thank you for your interest in the Guthrie Clinic Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship.

Set in beautiful Northeast Pennsylvania, Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital is a 267 bed tertiary care teaching hospital with Level One Trauma Center serving 13 counties with a diverse patient population.

With progression of responsibility based on demonstrated diagnostic and disease management acumen, interpersonal skills, team leadership and procedural skills, you have the opportunity to shine.

Our ICU is a busy closed ICU system with a well-trained, dedicated staff. The faculty are experienced, intellectually curious, and dedicated to teaching. We are prepared at all times for bedside procedures including lines, intubation, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tubes, and bronchoscopy and have strong supporting services including interventional radiology. Disease management includes every aspect from strait forward problems requiring ICU level intervention to challenging complex multiorgan system failure. On the pulmonary service (both inpatient and outpatient), experience disease prevention and management from diagnosis though advanced management of routine, complex and unusual pulmonary disease diagnosis while helping your patients navigate to better health. Faculty interests are broad, including diagnostic and interventional bronchoscopy, management of pulmonary nodules, obstructive and interstitial lung disease, vasculitis, pulmonary hypertension, and sleep medicine.

The Guthrie Clinic has been built on foundation of integrated, comprehensive care in a rural environment. Medical education has been a cornerstone of our mission for over 100 years and today includes education of respiratory therapists, nursing students, medical students, and multiple residencies and fellow ship programs.

We look forward to sharing with you our vision for training excellent clinical pulmonologists and intensivists.
