Behavioral Health Science Center

Behavioral Health Services at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital provides comprehensive care for patients and their families.

We first conduct a comprehensive bio-psychosocial evaluation to determine your specific needs. Based on those results, our team will work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan; including transition planning that meets your needs. We offer multiple therapy options including crisis-oriented intensive family counseling, couples therapy, and individual skill teaching to increase tolerance and regulation of feelings.

Guthrie Behavioral Health Sciences offers patients:

  • Adolescent inpatient behavioral health care
  • Partial hospitalization program

Breast Care Center

The Guthrie Breast Care Center at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital offers a comprehensive program providing low dose mammography services, on-site clinical breast exams, specialized diagnostic care and breast education. Women who are at an increased risk for breast cancer can receive specialized services at our High Risk Breast Clinic. The center is accredited by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and accredited in Stereotactic Breast Biopsy by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Cancer Care and Infusion Center

The Guthrie Sayre Cancer Center and Infusion Center offers access to clinical trials, genetic counseling, support services, medical and radiation oncology and treatment for patients who require frequent medication delivered via infusion, all designed for patient comfort.  At Guthrie, we provide the highest standard of cancer care. We can help even if you do not have a definitive diagnosis or if previous medical tests have not determined the type or stage of your cancer.

Cardiac and Vascular Center

The Guthrie Cardiac and Vascular Center provides comprehensive care to determine the best treatment options for cardiac and vascular disease.

Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Chest Pain Center offers highly-trained staff, available to evaluate and treat patients with chest pain and is an accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society for Chest Pain Center.

Dialysis Services

Dialysis services at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital are offered six days a week. Our team of nephrologists, nurses, social workers and dietitians work together to provide comprehensive care.

Emergency Care

The emergency department is open 24 hours, 7 days for assessment and treatment of injuries and illnesses. The on-site helipad quickly facilitates trauma patients or transfers. Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital is the region’s Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation accredited Level I trauma center. Our trauma center provides patient-centered care from our team of fellowship-trained trauma physicians specializing in trauma, emergency surgery and critical care. Our specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to care for seriously injured patients.

Intensive Care

The 38 bed intensive care unit features state-of-the-art technology and a patient and family-centered approach to healing from our multidisciplinary team of providers. Our intensive care unit includes a newly expanded unit featuring in-room monitoring systems, dedicated family area and pod-concept for specialized treatment of medical, surgical and cardiac patients.

Labor and Delivery Care

Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital’s Labor and Delivery unit features nine labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum suites; five additional postpartum beds; and a dedicated surgical suite for cesarean delivery.

Located on the ninth floor of the facility, the unit offers the peace of mind that comes with both privacy and discreet but strict security.

Laboratory Services

The Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Laboratory provides inpatient and outpatient services include blood draw and on-site clinical testing. The laboratory is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Laboratory Services.

Outpatient Hours:

  • Monday: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Medical Imaging

Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Medical Imaging provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging studies, including:

  • Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Digital Mammography with computer assisted detection and including screening, diagnostic and biopsy procedures
  • Emergency and trauma imaging studies
  • Interventional radiology services
  • Nuclear medicine including nuclear cardiology and SPECT/CT
  • Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography (PET/CT)
  • Ultrasound including Vascular and Obstetric ultrasound
  • X-Ray and fluoroscopy

Rehabilitation Services

The rehabilitation department provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and cardiac rehabilitation for both inpatients and outpatients. Appointments are made by physician referral.

  • Monday: 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m

  • Thursday: 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m
  • Friday: 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m

Sleep Center

Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital offers overnight sleep studies to test and diagnoses a wide range of sleep disorders including:

  • Sleep apnea
  • Periodic limb movement disorder
  • Narcolepsy
  • Parasomnia and nocturnal seizers

Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital’s six quiet private rooms have state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment in a comfortable atmosphere available for studies seven days a week. Sleep center services also include home sleep testing capabilities for patients who are unable to travel. The sleep centers diagnostic staff includes Registered Respiratory therapists (RRT), Registered Pololysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT) and Board Eligible Polysomnographic Technicians.
