We are excited to offer a paid training program for Certified Nursing Assistants. This four-week training program will provide classroom and clinical training at the Residential Care Facility at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, Towanda Campus and will prepare you to test for your certification.
Interested candidates must apply for a Certified Nursing Assistant position and be interviewed. If selected, the candidate will be hired into a CNA Trainee position and will be trained and eligible to test to become a Certified Nurse Assistant.
Certified Nurse Assistants play a vital role in our residents' experience at Guthrie. As a CNA, you will work directly with skilled nursing residents. This role allows you to make a difference in a positive and meaningful way.

- Feed, bathe, and dress patients
- Take patient vital signs
- Serve meals, make beds, and keep rooms clean
- Set up medical equipment and assist with some medical procedures
- Answer calls for help and observe changes in a patient's condition or behavior

What is the program time commitment?
The program commitment is 4 weeks. You will be required to be at training Monday through Friday during business hours for a total of 40 hours a week.
What are the shifts of a certified nursing assistant?
After the completion of the program and successful passing of the certification, full-time Certified Nursing Assistants will work 12-hour shifts. Shifts are based on availability in days, evenings, and nights.
What costs are covered by Guthrie?
Guthrie will cover the cost of training course and testing for certification.
