Clinical / Allied Health Students
Allied health professionals are health care practitioners with formal education and clinical training who collaborate with providers and other members of the health care team to deliver high quality care to patients. Guthrie offers three dedicated, in-house, training programs, as well as the opportunity for students who would like to carry out their clinical rotation at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital.
Guthrie uses the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system, the most widely used EMR system in the US. Students at Guthrie will be trained on EPIC, learning to use the system to view patient records, record patient details, and place orders as required.
If you are an allied health student looking for the opportunity to carry out your clinical rotation with patients at Guthrie, please contact the Student Coordinator on 570-887-6583. They will be able to provide you with the appropriate paperwork, applications, and guidelines.
Note: Per Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine Regulations, rotations are not available for students matriculating in an international, unaccredited school.
