Guthrie Cortland Cancer Center Partners with Planet Fitness for Cans for a Cause

April 2, 2021

Planet Fitness in Cortland is teaming up with Guthrie to support the mission of the Guthrie Cortland Cancer Center, one can and bottle at a time.

Planet Fitness has set up a collection bin for can and bottle returns, with proceeds from the collection going to a fund that will support a new treatment center for cancer patients.

The Cortland Memorial Foundation is conducting the Guthrie Cortland Cancer Center Campaign to raise funds for a new, state-of-the-art integrated cancer center for the community. The $10.6 million project will greatly enhance Guthrie’s ability to care for cancer patients in the community by providing innovative treatment options and state-of the art technology close to home.

To support this important initiative, Cortland Memorial Foundation has established the Guthrie Cortland Cancer Care Fund to support equipment and technology upgrades, provide patient financial assistance, comfort care items and educational materials for patients, as well as advanced training for staff.

Deborah Nadolski, Executive Director, Cortland Memorial Foundation, said: “The Foundation welcomes this support from Planet Fitness. Donations like these and support from our community, enable us to provide the best care possible for our patients.”
