Guthrie Cortland Installs EV Charging Station
Guthrie Cortland Medical Center is pleased to announce the installation of an electric vehicle (EV) charging station. After the redesign of the parking lot, this is the latest move toward modernizing our campus and provides a sustainable energy option for patients, visitors and caregivers with electric or hybrid vehicles.
Partnering with Power Management Company, an energy consulting firm and leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, the new charging station includes two ChargePoint CP6000 dual-port stations, which provides four electrified parking spaces dedicated to EV and hybrid vehicles.
“This project not only reinforces our commitment to environmental sustainability, but supports the transition to clean energy,” said Jen Yartym, Guthrie Cortland Medical Center President. “We’re excited to see how these new charging stations will benefit our staff, patients, visitors, and the community as a whole.
The newly installed charging stations are located adjacent to the maintenance building on the east side of the hospital, which can be accessed through the Homer Ave. entrance. The dual-port stations, with charging speeds of up to 80 amps, offer up to 13.3 kW, ensuring fast and efficient charging for EV drivers. These stations are compatible with all EV and plug-in hybrid models, though a few models may require an adaptor.
“It’s been a privilege to work with Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on this forward-thinking initiative,’ said Michael Hedges, Vice President of Sales at Power Management. “These new electric charging stations represent an important step in expanding access to clean energy solutions, and we’re proud to contribute to the hospital’s commitment to sustainability.”
