Guthrie to Host Earth Day Volunteers at Community Garden
The fourth season of Guthrie’s Community Garden will kick off with the help of volunteers from local school districts on Saturday, April 27 between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Volunteers will celebrate Earth Day by helping to prepare soil and plant crops at the garden.
The food grown at Guthrie’s Community Garden will be given to families with food insecurities that are identified by the Guthrie Weight Loss Center and distributed to those in need through a partnership with a local food pantry. Funds raised from the 2018 Turkey Trot support the garden.
The Guthrie Community Garden is located on the land between the corners of Lehigh St. and N. Elmer Ave. in Sayre, near the Guthrie Pediatrics building (1011 N. Elmer Ave.).
