Guthrie Presents Donald Guthrie Awards

Each year, Guthrie recognizes employees with the Donald Guthrie Distinguished Provider Award and the Donald Guthrie Distinguished Employee Service Award.

The Donald Guthrie Distinguished Provider Award is presented annually to a provider who is nominated by their patients and co-workers for going beyond the standard of care to provide outstanding service. The Donald Guthrie Provider Award was presented to Dr. Firdos Ziauddin, Associate in Breast Surgery in the Section of General Surgery. "Dr. Z." was nominated for his dedication to his patients, his deep knowledge of both medical and surgical aspects of breast cancer treatment, and his unwavering compassion and kindness. Patients and fellow caregivers commend his ability to offer personalized care, while consistently going above and beyond for his patients.

The Donald Guthrie Distinguished Employee Service Award acknowledges those individuals who demonstrate sustained exceptional performance. This honoree is selected by a balloting process and nominations are made by their peers. The Donald Guthrie Employee Award was presented to Kellie Ficarro, Administrative Assistant, General Surgery. Kellie was nominated for her enthusiasm, innovative approach, and compassion. She consistently goes above and beyond to support her fellow caregivers and embodies Guthrie's mission of "Every Patient. Every Time."
