What is Musculoskeletal Imaging?
Musculoskeletal imaging provides detailed images of bones, joints and associated soft tissue for diagnosis and treatment of disorders and injuries. Musculoskeletal imaging uses different types of imaging, including X-ray, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) depending on your needs.
Our board-certified, fellowship-trained physicians use musculoskeletal imaging for conditions including:
- Back, shoulder, knee, hip, and neck pain
- Bone tumors, both malignant and benign
- Complex sports injuries
- Soft tissue tumors, both malignant and benign
- Spinal injuries
The Guthrie medical imaging department works in close collaboration with our orthopedics and cancer care departments to diagnose and treat conditions of the bones, joints and associated soft tissue. You and your caregiver will discuss which option is best for your care plan.
