Diversity and Inclusion
The program strives to be a meritocracy, in which fellows are recruited based on their academic record, work and potential. This is done without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, or genetic information. This approach has allowed the program to consistently recruit a strong and diverse group of fellows.
The faculty and administrative personnel are made up of a very diverse group of individuals including both males and females, US medical school and foreign medical school graduates, young and older (30's to 60's), from a multitude of backgrounds. A committee of individuals is involved in an interview process to select core faculty when positions become vacant. A concerted effort is made through this process to not only maintain the diversity of the faculty, but the core faculty as well. The Guthrie Clinic and Robert Packer Hospital are equal opportunity employers and have consistently been able to recruit a diverse faculty and staff, despite our rural location.
