- Orthopaedic Boot Camp
One of the most exciting rotations of the intern year is the full month-long “Orthopaedic Boot Camp” rotation. During this rotation, PGY-1 residents are immersed in learning the basics of orthopaedic surgery; they complete the newly required intern skills modules and spend time in a combination of didactic lectures and hands-on learning in cadaveric and clinical skills labs. This rotation has the sole goal of providing the PGY-1 class with the knowledge and skills required to hit the ground running in their PGY-2 year rotations.
The PGY-2 year includes 4-month rotations in:
- Adult Reconstruction Surgery
- Orthopaedic Trauma
- Hand Surgery
The PGY-3 year includes 4-month rotations in:
- Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery
- Sports Medicine/Shoulder Surgery
- Adult Spine Surgery
The PGY-4 year includes 2-month rotations in:
- Sports Medicine/Shoulder Surgery
- Adult Reconstructive Surgery
- Foot & Ankle Surgery
- Hand Surgery
- Orthopaedic Trauma
- Research/Elective
The PGY-5 year includes 2-month rotations in:
- Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery
- Sports Medicine/Shoulder Surgery
- Adult Reconstructive Surgery
- Foot & Ankle Surgery
